Halloween Treats for Club Members

This is a fun treat I'm putting in each club member's order this month!!

I love making these treats for my club members!!  It's fun to spoil them and say "thank you" for participating in a club!!  Plus, I think they have a lot of fun at club, too - stamping and laughing with friends!!

This treat really is simple to make....  You start with a 5" x 10" piece of Basic Black Card Stock.  Score it at 1 1/4" on each of the long sides and at 4" on each of the short sides.  Fold along all score lines.  Just click here for the link to a video on how to put these cute treats together!!

For our treats, I stamped the Spooky Spooky saying (from the Mingle all the Way Stamp Set) in Pumpkin Pie ink and punch it out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  Die-cut one Pumpkin Pie piece using the Deco Labels Collection Framelits and adhere the circle piece to it.  We also stamped a little pumpkin from the Holiday Invitation Stamp Set (in Pumpkin Pie ink) and punched it out with the 1" Circle Punch.  Then, add a couple of hearts punched from the Hearts Border Punch

Finally, punch a hole thru the top of both sides of the treat using the 1/4" Circle Handheld Punch and thread some Pumpkin Pie 3/4" Chevron Ribbon thru it.  Tie with some Basic Black 1/4" Taffeta Ribbon, and you're all set!!  Adorable!!

3D Project/Big Shot/Gift Item Class/Club - Thursday, September 18

These are the super-cute projects we made at the 3D Project/Big Shot/Gift Item class the other night.....

It was so fun to get in the mood for fall and Halloween - I just love this time of year!!

Here's the first project we made - it's a paper pumpkin (wow, where have i hear that before??).

I learned how to make this awesome pumpkin from Tamie Ackerson at last weekend's Creative Convention.  It's really simple....

Make 4 large Pumpkin Pie bows (yes, bows!) from the Gift Bow Die, cut them in half, then stamp with the "skid marks" from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set and sponge the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.  Next, make 3 Always Artichoke leaves, also using the Gift Bow Die, stamp them with the smaller "water splotches" from the Gorgeous Grunge set and sponge the edges with Always Artichoke ink.

Next, punch a 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch from Chocolate Chip card stock, stamp with the "diagonal lines" from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  Finally, punch two 1 3/4" circle punches for the top and bottom of the pumpkin.

To put the pumpkin together, use your bone folder to curl all of the pieces in the direction you'd like them to go first, then put adhesive on the ends of each of the Pumpkin Pie pieces and add them to one of the circle punches, spreading them evenly around the circle. I thought it was easiest to put 4 on first, like a "t", then add the other 4 in between each of those!.  I did the bottom first, then adhered them to the top circle next.  After this, add your leaves and curl them how you like.  The smaller strands are make using 1/2" strips of Always Artichoke (also stamped with the "water splotches").  Curl those using a pencil or your Paper-Piercing tool, then add them to the top of the pumpkin.  Finally, add that Chococolate Chip Scallop Circle to the top.  I used hot glue to put this piece on the pumpkin (and the rest of the stem, too)

To make the stem, roll up a piece of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon to the width you'd like and adhere it together with hot glue.  Tie some Linen Thread around the Burlap piece and add a Gold Basic Metal Button.  How cute is that!!

Gift Bow Bigz L Die  129977  $32.95

Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set  wood-mount  130514  $24.95
Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set  clear-mount  130517  $17.95

Stampin' Sponges  101610  $3.50

2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch  118874  $16.95

1 3/4" Circle Punch  119850  $16.95

1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon  132140  $7.95

Linen Thread  104199  $4.50

Gold Basic Metal Buttons  133763  $7.95

Now, for some fun Halloween treat bags.....

Take a Chevron Treat Bag, cut off 1/4" of the bottom of the bag.  Next, score the bag at 1" along both sides and 1 1/4" along the bottom of the bag (you don't need to score the top of the bag) with your Stampin' Trimmer.  Fold along score lines, then cut along the side score lines from the bottom of the bag up to the first score line to create the bottom flaps of your bag.  Fold the flaps in (making "valley" folds with the sides of the bag) and adhere the bottom together with Retro Fresh Washi Tape.

Now, to create the tag...

Take a 2" x 4" piece of Whisper White Card Stock and punch the top with the Angled Tag Topper Punch.  Stamp "Happy Halloween" from the Halloween Street Stamp Set in Tangerine Tango ink.  Then (and this is the fun part!)...  take the end of a pencil eraser, ink it with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamp as many polka dots as you'd like!!  Finally, tie a bow with the White & Tangerine Tango Two-Tone Baker's Twine around the bag and add the tag to the bow with some White Baker's Twine.  What a cute bag!!

Whisper White Baker's Twine  124262  $2.95

And here's the last project we made at class...

It's another cute treat Halloween treat!!

This project also uses a Chevron Treat Bag - this time we cut it down to 3 1/2" tall, then made a smaller bag (just like we did above using the washi tape) - you can get 2 mini treat bags out of one Chevron Treat Bag.  We also cut two pieces of Tangerine Tango card stock using the Top Note Die, stamped them with "boo to you" from the Good Greetings Stamp set (get your name entered into a drawing to win this stamp set every time you spend $50 between now and October 31!), then embossed them with the Zig Zag Embossing Folder.  These two pieces were then adhered to either side of our Mini Chevron Bag using Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive.

Next, we die-cut that cute ghost (from Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper) using the Fun Fall Framelits Dies.  We added his eyes using the 1/4" Circle Handheld punch (and Dimensionals).  Finally, we punched the opening in the treat bag using the Small Oval Punch, tied some Basic Black Chevron Ribbon though the bag and then added a White & Tangerine Tango Two-Tone Baker's Twine tie around that!

Group Meeting/Service Project - Tuesday, September 16

These are the fun projects we made at our Group Meeting last night...

The first one is a card we made to donate to a local Hospice House (each month, we make cards to donate to a local organization).

I love the fact that this stamp set is also part of our partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charities - Stampin' Up donates $3 from the sale of each stamp set to the RMHC!  So, we're essentially supporting two great organizations with this one card!

We start this card with a Crushed Curry card base, then stamped those cute flowers (from the Flamingo Lingo stamp set) in Crushed Curry ink. Next, we added a strip of the 2013-15 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (in Coastal Cabana) to the bottom of the card.

Then, we stamped the flamingo in Strawberry Slush ink, the "Caring Thoughts" in Crushed Curry ink and the scalloped piece behind the sentiment in Coastal Cabana ink - all images are from the Flamingo Lingo stamp set.  The sentiment was die-cut with our Bitty Banner Framelits and the scalloped piece was punched out with our Scalloped Oval punch.

Finally, we punched the top of the flamingo tag with our Scalloped Tag Topper punch and then added some  Baker's Twine to our tag.

Flamingo Lingo Stamp Set  wood-mount  134303  $21.95
Flamingo Lingo Stamp Set  clear-mount  134306  $16.95

2013-15 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack  130136  $21.95

Bitty Banner Framelits  129267  $14.95

Scalloped Oval Punch  119856  $16.95

Tangerine Tango Baker's Twine  134578  $2.95

Here's the next project we made at our Group Meeting - this was our Make-n-Take project for the night!

I learned how to make these cute gift bags while at Ronda Wade's Creative Convention last weekend.
This is how you do it....

Start with 2 pieces from Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack (pick any two coordinating patterns) - score them both at 1" along each side and the bottom (but not the top).  Then, cut along the side score lines up to the score line along the bottom of the card stock.  Fold along all score marks, fold the flaps in and secure with Glue Dots.  Do this with both pieces of DSP.  Insert one side of the bag into the other (and secure with Glue Dots) to make your bag!  It's so simple!

We added a fun tag (also made with our Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack), along with the word "believe" from the Good Greetings Stamp Set (you can get your chance to win this set with any $50 order between now and October 31) on a Garden Green Label Bracket punch.

The final finishing touches are the cute, little snowflake from the Frosted Sequins, a Rhinestone, a Mini Metallic Clothes Pin and some Crumb Cake Baker's Twine from the Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory Kit.  You could also make the entire tag from this kit - I had already used my entire kit on the projects at Creative Convention, so we came up with our own here!

Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack  135824  $6.95

Glue Dots  103683  $4.95

Good Greetings Stamp Set

Label Bracket Punch  132153  $15.95

Frosted Sequins  135835  $4.95

Mini Metallic Clothespins  133320  $3.95

Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory Kit  135865  $7.95

If you'd like to join us at our next Group Meeting/Service Project, we meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7pm - next meeting is on Tuesday, October 21.  We'd love to have you join us!!

Hope to see you soon!!
