3D/Big Shot Club - October 26, 2011

Here are the projects we made at the 3D/Big Shot Club in October.  They were such fun to put together and really got us in the mood for Halloween!

This first project is a candy corn (one of my favorite halloween candies!) treat holder.  It is so simple - I think it's called a sour cream container??  Anyway, you basically take a 6x6 sheet of DSP (I used the Frightful Sight DSP), roll it together and then adhere it well with sticky strip.  Take one end and adhere that together with sticky strip, fill with your favorite candy, and then take the opposite ends (to give it that twisted look) and adhere those together.  The crimper gives it that finished/professional look!  I thought it was fun to put a little hint of what was inside with the 1 1/4" circle punch and a window sheet.  We then added the BOOOOO sentiment from the Scaredy Cat stamp set. What fun!

This next idea came from Robin Spinner at robinlea.blogspot.com.  I was very excited to see that she is blogging again - I love all of her projects and wish she was still here in Michigan!  This is a fun pin that you can put on your shirt, your purse, in your hair - there are so many great possibilities!  I smiled every time I wore it!  We embossed (with black embossing powder - how cool!) the Scaredy Cat stamp, bejeweled it a bit with Basic Rhinestones and then finished it off with the 1 1/4" black striped grograin ribbon - isn't it a fantastic idea??  Thank you, Robin!

As always, I hope you enjoyed these projects as much as I did!  Join us anytime at the 3D/Big Shot Class the last Wednesday of every month at 7pm - next class is on November 30th!  Email me at amy.frillici@yahoo.com if you'd like to join us!

Cute Halloween Treat Ideas!

We made these cute Halloween Treat favors at a party I did last month.  I had a few left over and decided to make them for my club members this month!  I will always love the images in this set, Batty for You.  They are just too cute and beg to be put on a scallop circle with a few coordinating circle punches.  They are too fun to work with :).  And the M&Ms fit perfectly in the new 1" cello bags from the Holiday Mini - you get 50 of them for only $2.50!!  Email me today at amy.frillici@yahoo.com if you'd like to purchase some for yourself!

Scrapbook Club - October 20, 2011

Here are the 3 pages we'll be making in my Scrapbook Club next Thursday.  This Club is held the 3rd Thursday of every month.  You're welcome to join us this month, next month on November 17 or any month to come for that matter.  New guests are always welcome at club - you either pay a flat $15 fee or you get the class for FREE with a minimum $25 Stampin' Up order.  If you decide to join the 10 month club, you'll get the awesome hostess benefits one month during club!  Contact me today at amy.frillici@yahoo.com for more info!

This first page uses a Cajun Craze base - a perfect color for fall (and Halloween, it turns out!).  We put a couple strips of Frightful Sight DSP along the top and stamped "BOOOOOOO" on Concord Crush and Old Olive using Black Staz-on ink and the Broadsheet Alphabet set (which I received FREE from my upline, Ronda Wade, because I got a new recruit in July!).  The letters were then punched out with the Petite Pennants Builder punch and strung together with the 1/8" Black Taffeta ribbon.

The second page features a Basic Black base, more Frightful Sight DSP, an "owl bandit" from the Warmest Wishes Hostess Stamp set in the Holiday Mini and punched using the Owl builder punch.  We tied a 3/8" Certainly Celery Taffeta ribbon around the bottom and used the Spider Web Impressions folder on a piece of Old Olive card stock - the edges were distressed with black ink and "torn" a bit as well.

For this last page, I used Pumpkin #4 Sizzlit Die with the Big Shot and stamped and embossed the Scaredy Cat image from the Scaredy Cat stamp set onto a square of Frightful Sight DSP.  I am loving how this black embossing powder works for Halloween inspired images!

I hope you enjoyed these pages!  I loved putting them together this month!

Card Class - October 12, 2011

These are the cards that we made at my monthly Card-making Class on Wednesday, October 12.  I hold this class the 2nd Wednesday of every month, so mark your calenders!  The next class will be held on Wednesday, November 9.  You can make 4 cards for $12 or the class is FREE with a minimum $25 Stampin' Up order.

I saw this first card idea on a blog I just discovered (that I have since fallen in love with!).  Just go to inkspiredtreasures.com to see all of Connie's awesome ideas!  We used a Tangerine Tango card base and layered it with Basic Gray and Old Olive.  The Old Olive layer is embossed with the Spider Web Embossing Folder and made to look "webby" by applying Platinum Shimmer Paint with a sponge dauber.  The sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen set, and the spiders are from the Scarey Cat set.  The sparkle on the card is provided by the new Silver Glimmer Paper in the Holiday Mini and the Basic Rhinestones (do you see them on the spider's bodies as well?).  We finished the card off with the new 1/2" Basic Black Scallop Dots Ribbon.  I just used this ribbon for the first time and have fallen in love with it.  I'm planning to do a ribbon share of the 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbons (in all 10 colors) - please let me know if you'd like to participate!

I found this card on the Connie's inkspiredtreasures blog as well!  This card features a Lucky Limeade card base and gets lots of fun colors from the Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper.  The Halloween bandit/owl is from the Warmest Wishes Hostess Stamp set in the Holiday Mini catalog.  Just stamp him in Staz-on ink, punch him out and highlight his eyes with White Gel pen!  A few final touches include the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and the 1 1/4" Basic Black Striped Grograin Ribbon.

Robin Spinner (whom I learned sooo much from!) is blogging again!  I am so excited!  Check out her blog at robinlea.blogspot.com to see her amazing new ideas!  She did not disappoint!  She featured this card recently on her blog.  The card starts with an Olive Olive base and is accented by the Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper.  I loved her idea of adding another spider (one came on the page, but it really did need another one!).  Just stamp with Versamark and emboss with black embossing powder and the heat tool.  The same technique was used on the Happy Halloween sentiment (from the Scaredy Cat stamp set) and the little  white ghost - isn't he cute?  I even decided to emboss the envelope!  The front flap of the card is actually a book mark - how fun!  The look is completed with a folded circle of Cajun Craze. 5/8" Black Satin ribbon and a Wire Clip from the Clips Assortment.

This last idea came from Ronda Wade at a recent downline meeting she held.  We again used the Frightful Sight DSP - I loved working with this paper this month!  We tied a 5/8" Black satin bow around the Kit Kat that's inside the 6x6 paper - shhhh, don't tell!  Lilly decided it would be fun to send a few of these surprise treats to her grandparents for Halloween!  I know they'll love them!  We used the crimper on the ends of the paper to give them a finished look.  The stamp is from the Batty for You set, which I've actually had for years but have not tired of yet - the images in this set are too cute!

Well, I hope you enjoyed these fun Halloween ideas!  I sure had a blast working on them this month!
