3D/Big Shot Class - December 28, 2011

This is the project we made the month at 3D/Big Shot Class for December.
It's a picture frame made with Stampin' Up chipboard.  We covered it with the Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper and added a flower with the Fun Flowers Bigz Die and the Big Shot.  I reach for this die so often - it makes such a beautiful flower!
We finished it off with a Neutral Designer Button and some Hemp Twine!

The inside holds two wallet size pictures - these are my kids Cade and Lilly (in their school pictures this year).  This is the first school picture for Lilly with her glasses - I think she looks so cute in them!  We added a few fun touches on the inside with a Neutral 5/16" Jumbo brad in Very Vanilla on an Early Espresso flower from the Bigz Die and a Pool Party flower from the Boho Blossoms punch.  On the other side, we used a Pool Party 1 3/8" circle, a Spice Cake DSP 1 1/4" circle, and a Champagne Glimmer brad for some sparkle.

I really love how this frame turned out!  I even made a few extra to give to my family for Christmas this year!  They kept asking about the kids' school pictures...  it was hard to stall them until Christmas!  But I think they agree it was worth the wait now!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.

Please let me know if you'd like to join us at next month's 3D/Big Shot Class on Wednesday, January 25th at 7pm.  We meet the last Wednesday of every month!

Scrapbook Class - December 15, 2011

Here are the pages we made at Scrapbook Class in December....

I saw a similar scrapbook page layout in a previous Idea Book & Catalog and have been wanting to put it together for a long while now!!  I finally got my chance this month!!  We used the Delightful Decorations set (p. 40) to make a "tree" with the ornament stamps and punch (using Wild Wasabi and Pear Pizzaz card stock, textured card stock and ink).  The word "family" is made with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet (p. 224) with the Big Shot.

I had to add some sparkle with Dazzling Diamonds (p. 201) on the swirls on the "joy" ornament and sprayed some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (p. 203) on the Pear Pizzaz ornaments.

These next two pages are both Cherry Cobbler bases (although the lighting makes them look like different colors, they're really not!!), with a strip of Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper (p. 186) along the bottom of the second page.  We stamped the same image from the Merry & Type set (p. 31) and then colored it in with our Stampin' Write Markers along the side of this first page!   Can you tell the difference?
We finished the edges off with Old Olive and Marina Mist 1/4" Grograin ribbon.

Just to add a little more detail to the pages, we stamped and punched a few more sentiments from the Merry & Type set - I told you I loved this set!!  We finished those off with a swag of Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Old Olive 1/4" Grograin Ribbon, and a Cherry Cobbler brad!
What fun it will be to fill these pages with Holiday photos!!

I hoped you enjoyed these pages!!  Please let me know if you'd like to join us at the next Scrapbook Class on Thursday, January 26th.  Please note that we typically meet the 3rd Thursday of each month for this class, but I had to reschedule the January class to a date conflict.  I'll be at Stampin' Up's Leadership Convention the week that we would typically have class in January.  I'm so excited to go to my first SU! Convention - I've heard wonderful things about them!!  I'll fill you in on all the details when I return!  Again, please let me know if you'd like to join us at the next Scrapbook Class on January 26th at 7pm!

Card Class - December 14, 2011

Here are the cards we'll make at class this week...  They are all so fun for the holidays!

This first card is one I made at a Rubber Queen Meeting that I attended earlier in the fall.  I really love this new stamp set, Merry & Type.  It can be found on page 31 of the current Idea Book & Catalog.  We used Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso paper and Stampin' Write markers, as well as the new Oval Designer Frames and Houndstooth Embossing Folders (p. 218) with the Big Shot (p. 215).  The card is finished off with a Pearl Basic Jewel (p. 198) on the scroll work above the "25" and tied with the Early Espresso 3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon (p. 30 of the Holiday Mini).

This next card uses some left over scrap pieces from the Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit in the Holiday Mini (p. 26) for the present boxes.  The sparkle is added with Red Glimmer Paper (p. 41 of the Holiday Mini) for the bows (made from the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch (p. 211) - I love using this punch to make these fun ribbons!) and an added touch of sparkle comes from the Basic Rhinestone Jewel (p. 198) that dots the "i' in Merry Christmas.  We also used the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (p. 218) around the edge of the Soft Suede piece and layered it onto an Old Olive card.  What fun this card is!!  I also used this card as my swap this month at our Rubber Queen meeting!

I knew I wanted to do some embossing this holiday season, and I thought it worked beautifully on this card!!  We used Gold Embossing Powder and the Champagne Glass Stampin' Glitter (p. 201) for the ornament.  The ornament stamp comes from the Delightful Decorations set (p. 40) and the Season's Greetings sentiment comes from Many Merry Messages set (p. 166).  We also added a lovely bow using the Always Artichoke 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon (p. 195) that coordinates with the Always Arthicoke paper and ink.  Finally, we added a little texture with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (p. 219) with the Big Shot.

For this final card, we used some additional scrap pieces from the Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit in the Holiday Mini (p. 26) - can you tell I LOVED this kit??  And this is such a simple card - that one strip of Designer Series Paper adds so much to the card!  We used a Lucky Limeade card base and layered an Early Espresso piece embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (p. 218) with the Big Shot.  The stamp "Peace on Earth" is also from the Merry & Type set (p. 31).  I added another Basic Rhinestone Jewel
(p. 198) above the sentiment (but I don't think you can really see it in this photo - sorry about that!).  It really was all about the sparkle this month!!

Please let me know if you'd like to join us for this Card-Making class on Wednesday, December 14 or the 2nd Wednesday of every month in 2012!!  Hope to see you soon!!

A Peak at a Few Projects I've been working on lately!

Here are a couple of cards I've made recently.  They are using a few retired stamp sets that I've had in my closet and just never had much time to play with.....
So, I pulled them out the other day and got busy creating!  I cannot get enough of those Textured Impressions Embossing folders with the Big Shot! - can you tell??

This is a card I found on Dawn Olchefske's blog, dostamping.typepad.com.  It looked so simple and elegant I had to try it...  Another embossing folder, of course!  Can you see the Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the snowflakes??

Here are a couple of gift ideas for the holidays.  This one is another "nugget" holder, but this time we used two of the folded tags from the Two Tags die with the Big Shot and then attached a little box to hold them in on the inside of the folded tags.  I think they are super cute.  I learned how to make these at a Creative Convention I attended at the end of September this year.

These cute snow men are a punch art extravaganza!  We used the Ornament, Large Oval, Extra-Large Oval, 1/2" circle, Owl Builder, Bird Builder punches and then put a piece of licorise inside the 1x8" Cello bags from the Holiday Mini!  Aren't they adorable?

I've been putting these extra cards and gift items together to have for sale at the Purple Pear in downtown Alma.  I'll be down at the Purple Pear next Friday, December 9 from 5:30-8:30pm in conjuction with Alma's "Come Home to Alma for the Holidays" event.  Stop in and see me and make a cute gift tag while you're there! Then stop by Carolyn's Cakes next door to decorate a cookie!  And visit the many other retailers that will be open late on Friday for this awesome holiday event!

Hope to see you soon!

3D/Big Shot Class - November 30, 2011

Here's a look at the projects we made the other night at our 3D/Big Shot Class.  I found this cute box and "nugget" holder in a tutorial by Becky Roberts at her blog inkingidaho.com.  I had so much fun putting these projects together this month.  I hope you all did, too!

Here is another look at the box and the contents inside!  We made 8 coordinating gift tags to slip inside the box!  We used the Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper and the red glimmer paper on the sleeve of the box and belly band.  Then we used the silver glimmer paper on the tags - I can't get enough of that glimmer paper!  It just makes me happy to play with it!  We also used the Snow Much Fun stamp set and our awesome Stampin' Write markers to dress up the snowmen.

The tags are made from the Two tags die with the Big Shot - you can use the one tag as a bookmark or a gift tag - you choose!

We even inked the outside of the folded tags with the Merry & Type stamp set, "Peace on Earth" sentiment, just to jazz them up a bit!

Here is a closer peak at the "nugget" holder.  It's the bookmark tag from the Two Tags die, folded around a Hershey's chocolate nugget.  The perfect little treat for someone sweet!

As always, new people are always welcome to join us for this class at anytime.  We meet the last Wednesday of every month.  Please let me know if you'd like to join us this month, on Wednesday, December 28th! Just email me at amy.frillici@yahoo.com if you'd like to join in the fun!
