Duhadway Dance Dimensions, Elite Dance Team - Banner Project Fundraiser

Here are some fun pictures of the banners we're going to be making at the Duhadway Dance Studio for our Elite Dance Team "Elite Experience" Banner Project Fundraiser on October 12 and 19!!
Each dancer is going to create a fun banner (with their name on it)
using one of the following color palettes...
The first color palette features the colors Pacific Point, Real Red and Gumball Green.....

The second color palette features the colors Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight....

The last color palette choice features the colors Bermuda Bay, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant.....

We are going to have so much fun working with the dancers to create a unique banner for each of them with their name on it!!  We'll use these banners as part of the display at the Elite Experience Show in January and then they'll be able to take them home afterwards!!
I can't wait to see what each of the girls does!!

Happy Birthday "Celebrate" Banner Class

Here are some more fun banners I made recently!!

These banners say "celebrate" and are going to be featured in the August Birthday Banner and Card Class on Tuesday, August 20 from 6:30-9:30pm.

This first banner features the colors Crisp Cantalope, Coastal Cabana, and Pistachio Pudding, and the letters are in Wisteria Wonder.  I thought these would be beautiful, soft colors for a birthday banner for my daughter, Lilly.  I tied some chevron ribbon in various, coordinating colors to the jute twine on the banner for a fun touch and added some ruffle stretch trim to the top of a few of the pennants as well!

This next banner features the colors Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, and Old Olive, and the letters are in Summer Starfruit.  Again, I added some chevron ribbon in various, coordinating colors to the jute twine.  I thought this would be a great (slightly more masculine) birthday banner for my son, Cade!

This is how the class will work....

You'll make a fabulous birthday banner featuring the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit in the Holiday Catalog, along with 2 additional coordinating cards!!

Look What I Made!!

I was soooo excited to play with my first banner kit after seeing them live at convention!!
Check out what I made!!

It's a fun "create" banner!!

I have to admit...  I thought these would be great to make in a class!!  But then, I made one with all of these fabulous colors and realized it would take waaaay too long in a class setting!!  The part that takes so long is inking each chevron, polka dot or straight line individually with each color.  You have to ink one part, then clean off your stencil with a wipe so that your colors don't blend together or leak into the next section - just ask me how I know this!! - and then move onto the next color.

So, as much as I LOVE how this banner turned out (you can see it live at my new Gathering Inkspiration Stamp Studio at 209 E Superior St in downtown Alma!), we won't be doing this exact thing in class.  I will, however, give you any tips I can on how to make this fabulous creation yourself!!

So, my first tip was to wipe off the stencil after each color is applied (and before you move onto the next color).  If you happen to still have a problem, just punch one of those cute butterflies and cover up your mistake!!  Just for fun, I added some coordinating ribbon ties between each letter on the banner.

I used 6 different colors on my banner - Gumball Green, Strawberry Slush, Summer Starfruit, Wisteria Wonder, Coastal Cabana, and Blushing Bride - I thought it turned out pretty well!  What do you think??  Leave a comment at the end of this blog post, and let me know!!

And, watch for my next blog post about an upcoming class using these banners!!  We'll simplify the class by using just one color on each stencil pattern.  It still makes a beautiful banner, but doesn't take nearly as much time!!

I hope you enjoyed!!
