3D Project/Big Shot/Gift Item Class/Club - Thursday, February 27

These are the fun projects we made at the 3D Project/Big Shot/Gift Item class last night!!
These colors and flowers make me really ready for spring!!

Our first project were some clothes pins that we decorated with the Retro Fresh Washi Tape and some cute butterflies! The butterflies are made with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches. We added a couple of Naturals Designer Buttons, Linen Thread and Pearls as accents to the butterflies. I'm going to have fun using these cute clips for displays down at the studio!

This next project was a combined CASE from our Stampin' Success Magazine (a bi-monthly magazine that Stampin Up Demonstrators receive - buy the Starter Kit anytime, and you'll receive this great magazine, too!) for the cards and the Blog, "Stamping with Stace" for the box idea.

These cute 3x3 thank you cards fit perfectly into the little box. Of course, the box was made using the Envelope Punch Board. You start with a 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" piece of Baked Brown Sugar card stock. Punch and score it at 2 5/8" and 3 5/8" on all 4 sides. Cut the flaps at each corner with your paper snips to fold the box together and adhere with glue dots. Next, we tied some Linen Thread around the box and added a cute Mini Metallic Clothes Pin. So simple!!

And then... here are the cards themselves......

We stamped those gorgeous flowers (and "thank you" sentiment) with the Happy Watercolor set - the outlined image in Black Stazon ink and then filled in the flowers with a combination of Coastal Cabana marker and blender pen (for the lighter shading) with Coastal Cabana ink. Next, we added a small strip of Baked Brown Sugar card stock, layered with Whisper White and then wrapped with Linen Thread, and then added an In Color Boutique Details button and the Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim. For the finishing touch, we lined the mini envelope using the Envelope Liner Framelits Dies and some Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper.

Here is the last project we made at class....

It's a fun, simple photo holder!

We die-cut pieces of Very Vanilla card stock, Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper and the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum using the Top Note Bigz Die with the Big Shot.

Finally, we added a jump-ring to hold the sheets together and tied some Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim, Gold Baker's Twine and Natural Chevron Ribbon around the jump ring.

Scrapbook Class/Club - Tuesday, February 25

Here are the pages we made at Scrapbook Class this month....

This first page is the 2nd half of the spread we started last month.
It features the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper - I just love this color combination.... Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango and So Saffron! We also put a fun chevron touch on the page with the Natural Chevron Ribbon (along the bottom of the page)!

We stamped many of the images from the Banner Blast set in those fun, coordinating colors (Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango and So Saffron) and then punched them out with the Banner Punch to make that cute garland along the top of the page. To string the banners together, we used the new Gold Baker's Twine.

We also added some texture to our page (this is something I sometimes find difficult to do with our Scrapbook Pages because of the size of the embossing folders - somehow I always want it to go all the way across the page!) with the Arrows Textured Impression Embossing folder.

This is the next page we made at class...

We got to use lots of fun items from the Sale-a-Bration catalog! This page makes me ready for spring (which is REALLY wishful thinking when you live in Michigan!).

In the top corner of our page, we put a banner strip of the Sale-a-Bration Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper, and then added the fun page title "You can never have too much happy" from the Yippee Skippee set. We also made some pretty, petite flowers with the Petite Petals Punch (using more of the Sweet Sorbet DSP) and the Bird Punch (using Pistachio Pudding card stock).

In the bottom corner of the page, we added some cute spring flowers using a number of punches: the Pansy Punch in So Saffron card stock, the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch in Crisp Cantalope card stock and the 3/4" circle punch (for this piece, we used the flower stamp from the Petal Parade Sale-a-Bration set and inked it in Coastal Cabana ink). And then... the best part about this page..... that fun (fringe) grass made using our awesome, new Fringe Scissors!! These scissors are a steal at only $9.95!!

We played with even more of the great (FREE!) Sale-a-Bration items!

At the top of this page, we used the You're Lovely Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set. We stamped the "I think you're Lovely" stamp once in Pistachio Pudding (and die-cut that with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits) and then stamped it again in Pool Party (and punched that out with the 1 3/4" circle punch). We mounted that on another Crisp Cantalope piece die-cut with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits and then tied some Crisp Cantalope Baker's Twine (another FREE Sale-a-Bration item) around the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper strip. Finally, we added more "fringe" with our Fringe Scissors on the Pool Party piece.

This last element on our page was inspired by a card we made at the All-Occasion Card Class earlier this month. I thought it would be a fun way to add a little message to the page - you could journal a little note on the 3x3 card and then tuck it inside the envelope!

We made the envelope using the Envelope Punch Board - just follow the instructions for an envelope that coordinates with a 3x3 card - it's so simple! My only suggestion is to make sure not to push too hard with the scoring tool - you're working with designer series paper, which is not as heavy as card stock, so you don't want to cut a hole thru the paper while you're scoring!

We used our Petal Parade Stamp Set again to stamp the flowers on the little card (in Crisp Cantalope, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party ink) - I still think it's so great that those flowers coordinate perfectly with the design on this piece of Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper! I might be easily impressed!
