Scrapbook Class - November 17, 2011

Here are pictures of the three pages we made at Scrapbook class last week....
This first page features the Season of Friendship stamp set, the Well Worn Designer Series Paper and the coordinating colors of Not Quite Navy, River Rock, Early Espresso and Cajun Craze.  I'd been wanting to make a tree with this stamp set for forever, so I was glad to finally have the opportunity to use it! The word "PRICELESS" is made with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet with the Big Shot.  I've got some fun pictures of the kids in the leaves that will be perfect for this page!

For this next page, I decided to go with a simple theme that is all about the beautiful Well Worn Designer Series Paper.  I was so excited to purchase this paper in July but had to wait until now to use it - it just didn't fit the mood before fall arrived!

Do you see the mini buttons on the ribbon?  They are included in the Vintage Trinkets embellishment kit - you get 48 safety pins and tiny brads shaped to look like metal buttons for only $5.95 (118764).  I thought they added a fun touch to the otherwise very simple page!

For this last page, we used the Broadsheet Alphabet stamp set for our Initial on the page, as well as the new Oval Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing folder with the Big Shot.

Isn't this turkey cute!  I saw him on a swap card I recieved recently and knew I had to incorporate him into a project this fall!  We made a similar turkey on a Thanksgiving card a few years ago in a class I attended.  They are such fun!  He just makes me smile!

We'll be making some beautiful Holiday pages at our next Scrapbook Class on December 15 at 7pm.  This class meets the 3rd Thursday of every month, and new people are always welcome at class anytime!  If you'd like to join us, just email me at amy.frillici@yahoo.com.  Also, don't forget that all of my classes will now be held at 127 E. Superior St in downtown Alma.  Hope to see you soon!

Card Class - November 9, 2011

Here are the fabulous cards we made at class last night!

I can't get enough of the beautiful Spice Cake Designer Series Paper in the Holiday Mini.  It's featured here on the leaves and in the Thank you/pumpkin card below.  We also used the new Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Hand-Penned Holidays Stamp set from the Holiday Mini.  What fun!

I saw this next card on the blog, inkspiredtreasures.com, a few months ago and have been wanting to try it out. It is a bit labor-intensive (coloring the leaf stamp from the Warmest of Wishes Hostess Stamp from the Holiday Mini and cutting the Rectangle Designer Frames Embossing folder image), but I think it was worth it!  What do you think??   We also used the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing folder, a Rich Razzleberry Flower brad, and a bit of Pocketful of Posies DSP.  These bright, fun colors are awesome to work with (especially on the dreary winter days we've had here lately in Michigan!).

What a contrast....  This next card also uses the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing folder, but has a much more muted color pallete. I love it just as much though!!  I really enjoyed using the Victoria 5/8" Crochet trim on this card - I didn't think I needed this ribbon, but have really grown to like it!  The pumpkin is made with three large oval punches - I love getting more than one use out of my punch!

This last card is super simple.  In fact, I demonstrated it at a party I did about a month ago.  I bought this stamp set (Day of Gratitude) last year in the holiday mini and was thrilled to see it made it to this year's Idea Book and Catalog so that I could pull it back out again!  The card features some traditional fall colors - More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso, along with the 1/4" Early Espresso grograin ribbon.  The sentiment, "Gratitude can transform common days into Thanksgivings", is perfect this time (or any time!) of year!

Card-making classes are always held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.  My next card-making class will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at 7pm in my new location downtown Alma, 127 E. Superior St.  Come join us for a fabulous night of card-making!  Just email me at amy.frillici@yahoo.com if you'd like to join in the fun!

Projects for the Classes to be held in conjunction with the CROP on November 12

Here are the 3 projects we're going to be completing in the classes this weekend at the CROP at St. Mary School.  They are all perfect gift-giving ideas for the holidays!!  Or....., keep them for yourself to share with others throughout the holidays and winter season (and brighten their day along the way)!

This first project is the "All-Occasion Card Class".  We'll make 4 cards and a coordinating box to hold them in for $15 or FREE with a minimum $30 Stampin' Up order.
This truly is a perfect gift idea!

The picture above is the holder with the beautiful coordinating cover, then open up the holder to reveal 2 clear envelopes that will hold 2 cards on each side (pictured below).  We used the Perfectly Penned Stamp set, along with the Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini, to create a beautiful winter look to these cards!

This next project is the "Scrapbook in a Day Class".  At this class, we'll make 10 coordinating holiday scrapbook pages using the new Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit in the Holiday Mini.  You can take this book home and fill it with your favorite holiday photos!  Class fee is $25.  If you buy the coordinating album, I'll take $5 off your class fee.

The pages in this book are absolutely gorgeous!
You'll have so much fun filling them with your holiday photos!

This is the actual 6x6 album that you can purchase to put your pages in as well!
It coordinates perfectly with the inside pages!

The last class is a "Holiday Stamp-a-Stack".  You'll make 8 holiday cards (2 each of 4 designs) using Stampin' Ups new Stocking Builder Punch and Stitched Stockings Stamp set (from the Holiday Mini) for $20 or FREE with the purchase of the punch and stamp set.  Here are the 4 cards you'll be making:

Do you see the sparkle on the cuff, heel and toe of the stocking above?  That's the new Silver Glimmer Paper from the Holiday Mini - such fun to play with!  We framed the stocking with the new Rectangle Designer Frames Embossing folder.  The Petals-a-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing folder is the perfect accent for this card (or most any holiday card, for that matter!).  We finished off the card with the black 1/2" scalloped dots ribbon.  I have a ribbon share currently going on with the 1/2" scalloped dots ribbons - you receive 2 yards each of 10 different scalloped dots ribbon for $20 - please email me at amy.frillici@yahoo.com if you'd like to participate in the ribbon share!

This next card features the new Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Eyelet Border punch,  5/8" Satin ribbon in Real Red.  The sentiment comes from the Word Play Stamp set (the perfect stamp set for most any occasion!).  And, don't miss that sparkle again - this time I used the Red Glimmer Paper.

I love the "lodge" look of this next eard - courtesy of the Frostwood Lodge DSP from the Holiday Mini!  The sentiment is from the Bells & Boughs Stamp set, and we used the new Cherry Cobbler 3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon to hang our stocking from!

This last card features the gorgeous Hand-Penned Holidays Set from the Holiday Mini - I tried to resist purchasing this set but finally knew I couldn't stop myself - and now I'm so glad I have it!  It was perfect for this card!  I used the new Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing folder and a strip of 1/4" Old Olive grograin ribbon to complete this card!

Well, there you go!!  I hope you love these projects as much as I do!!

Please join us this Saturday, November 12 anytime between 9am and 6pm.  You'll have a great start on your holiday gift-giving!!
