Watercolor Christmas... Oh Joy

Here's a swap card I made recently featuring LOTS of new Holiday Catalog product!  It was so fun to go through my pre-order and decide which product I was going to use on this swap card - I especially love the black and white striped ribbon and the pretty cursive font on this stamp set!

Read on to learn all about it......

We start our card with a Cherry Cobbler Card base, then added a layer of Basic Black Card Stock, followed by a layer of the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) to our card.

This Merry Music DSP is a lightweight paper printed with traditional Christmas carols in English, French and German.  You actually receive 24 sheets of DSP, 4 each of 6 double-sided designs, so you get LOTS of paper in this pack of DSP!

Next, I stamped "Oh Joy" in Cherry Cobbler ink using the Watercolor Christmas Stamp Set.  This stamp set is also featured in the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit.  You can create handmade Christmas cards in minutes with this stamp set and super-cute, super-simple project kit!  And...  like I said earlier, I just love the cursive font in this stamp set!

I die-cut the Whisper White Oval and the Cherry Cobbler Scallop Oval behind it using the Layering Oval Framelits.  I am telling you...  I use my Layering Circles, Squares and Ovals Framelits ALL the time!  They are a must-have if you have a Big Shot!

Finally, I added that awesome black and white 7/8" Striped Ribbon behind the oval and sentiment and topped the "i" with a Rhinestone!  So fun!  The ribbon actually has wire on each side so it works great for making bows, too!  This is going to be a super-popular ribbon for both Halloween and Christmas this year, I think!

Bundle of Love Baby Card

Sometimes you just need a cute baby card!!  I think this card delivers on that!

We made this card at our last Simple, Beautiful Card Class at the stamp studio.  Everyone loved it!  It's just so sweet :).





If you're interested in learning more about our Simple, Beautiful Card Class, this class meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month anytime from 4-9pm and the following Friday from 1-3pm.  We make 4 cards at class.  You can either pay a $15 fee for your 4 cards, or..... place a minimum order and your cards are FREE!

The next Simple, Beautiful Card Class meets this week on Wednesday, September 13 anytime from 4-9pm.  We would typically have a class this Friday, September 15, but I'll be at a conference that day (so, no Friday class this month!).

Ok, on to our card.....

We start our card with a Very Vanilla Thick Card Stock base, then added a layer of Very Vanilla card stock embossed with the Ruffled Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder.  I think these ruffles kind of look like ruffles on a baby's bloomers :).  Can you see it??

Next, we added 3 banners to our card using a 1 1/2" wide piece of Blushing Bride card stock and 2 pieces ( 1" and 1 1/2" wide) of the Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).  We flagged the ends of these banners using our Banner Triple Punch.  This Bundle of Love DSP isn't just for babies!!  Each side is printed with either Blushing Bride or Soft Sky on one side and then a gold pattern on the other side (see the example below).

Next, we added a Very Vanilla Baker's Twine bow around our layers and then tied a piece of Blushing Bride Double Stitched Ribbon in a knot around this bow.  I am having so much fun playing with all of our new ribbon and twine in the catalog - did you know we had 49 new ribbons this year????  That's a LOT of ribbon to play with :)

Finally, we stamped "hello baby" from our trusted and long-standing Stamp Set, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  This stamp set is always there for you in a pinch!  With 24 different stamps in this set, it includes a greeting for almost every occasion!  We stamped our greeting in Soft Suede ink and then die-cut it with the Layering Oval Framelits. We also added another Soft Suede scallop circle (die-cut from the same framelits) behind our sentiment.
