Convention 2012 Swaps!!

Here are the swaps I made for the Stampin' Up Convention in Salt Lake City!  This is my first year attending Convention - soooo excited to see what it's all about!!  I made about 100 swaps!!  Looking forward to coming home with lots of new ideas from these swaps!! 

Can't wait to show you all at my classes on July 24 &25!!

Card Class - Wednesday, July 11

I got the idea for this first card from a card that I made at a class a few years ago.  The original card was made before we had the Simply Scored Scoring Tool or the new Designer Rosette Bigz XL die for the Big Shot.  It was much easier this time!  I chose to use the Designer Rosette for this card.

I just ran a 1" wide strip of the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper thru the Big Shot with the Rosette die and then put it together with sticky strip on a 1" circle punch! 

It is too easy - and too cute!! 

This next card is a CASE of Mary Fish's Stampin' Pretty blog.  I love so many of her ideas

and just had to try this one out! 

It features the new Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper and the 1 1/4' Stitched grograin ribbon in Early Espresso.  What a cute combination!

The outside of the card says "so may smiles..." and on the inside it says "begin with you".  What a lovely sentiment!  This set is called Petite Pairs and has 9 different coordinating sentiments

- one for most any occasion!

This next card is one we made a few months ago at a class I attended with Ronda Wade. 



It features the Summer Smooches DSP and the Bright Blossoms stamp set. It really is such a great combination together!

This last card is another CASE of Mary Fish's Stampin' Pretty blog. 

On this card, we feature the new International Bazaar Designer Series Paper and the Naturals Designer Buttons. The sentiment "Sending Love and Sympathy" is from the Love & Sympathy stamp set and is highlighted on one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  It fits perfects and is a great compliment to the card!

3D Project/Big Shot Class - Wednesday, June 27

Here is the project we made at the 3D Project/Big Shot Class recently.  I made this same type of project a few years ago at a class I attended with Robin Spinner and have been wanting to put another one together for a long time.  I finally did it!  I love that my classes get me to finally do some of these things that I have intended for a looooong time :)

This really cool photo holder/frame is essentially 2 6x12 pieces of card stock that were attached together and then cut and folded in an accordian manner so that they fold up into one neat book!  There are lots of spots for pictures and your journaling!  I think the ladies at club really liked this project!  I can't wait to fill mine with some fun summer photos - the colors

(Island Indigo and Pool Party) make me think of the beach and the pool - I wonder why!

We used the new Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the outside cover and to add visual interest and texture to some of the inside folds.  We also featured the Word Play stamp set (a long-time favorite of mine!) and the Hearts Collection Framelits die with the Big Shot on the cover.
