Card Class - June 2, 2011

Here are the cards that we made at class on June 2!  I will be doing another class on these cards next Tuesday, June 7 at 7pm if you'd like to join us!

This month I really tried to use some of the stamp sets that I've had for a while now that I know I will not be able to demonstrate with after the end of this month.  This first card used the Cute by the Inch Hostess set and coordinating punch.  I like how it frames the "friends" sentiment on the card.  In addition, I loooove the Inspired by Nature stamp set and was happy to be able to use it on this card (for the grass).  I used a tiny pearl in the middle of the flower inside the punch and put crystal effects on the other three flowers to jazz them up a bit.  This is a beautiful, clean, simple card (that I found on the Split Coast Stampers website, I should add!).

Since it's June, I knew I had to do a graduation card!  For this card, I used the Top Note Die for the Big Shot, along with the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I sponged just a bit of whisper white craft ink on the "cap" and made the "tassle" with Whisper White 1/8" Taffeta ribbon.  Finally, I used the Word Play stamp set (which is a fabulous set, I might add - very versatile - with a stamp for most every occassion - there are 12 stamps in all!).  The front of the card says "Go Confidently in the Direction of your Dreams, and the inside (and envelope) say "Imagine the Possibilities".  What perfect sentiments for a graduate!

This next card is one I'll probably use for my son's birthday in July - I don't think he's paid much attention to the cards that are set up in the basement this month (at least I hope not!).  You may recognize this paper - it's the Celebrations Designer Series Paper that we used recently in my scrapbook class.  I also used the Create a Cupcake stamp set and coordinating punch (I just love those punches!).  And, again, I used the Word Play Stamp set for the "Wish Big" sentiment.  This is just a fun card!

This last card is a Father's Day card - just in time to celebrate those awesome fathers in our lives!  For this card, I used the Elegant Soire Designer Series Paper to make the tie (I have been wanting to make this card ever since I saw an of it example in the catalog last year!) and the All Holidays Stamp set.  This stamp set just happens to be on Stampin' Up's Last Chance List.  So, this set will only be available for purchase until the end of June - then it's gone forever! There are 12 awesome all-occasion stamps in this set.  Please contact me today if you are interested in purchasing this set before it's gooooone!

Hope you enjoyed!  Please join us at class anytime!

Card Class - May 5, 2011

Hello to all!

I can't believe this beautiful weather we are finally having in Michigan!  It certainly feels like spring!  I hope you've all been able to take some time to enjoy the outdoors - the grass is soooo green right now!

Speaking of green, here are pictures of the cards that we made at class last week on Thursday, May 5.  I love the colors on this card - wild wasabi (my favorite green right now!), pumpkin pie and marina mist - what a great combination!

This first card was made using the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch from the Summer Mini catalog.  This punch actually makes 4 different flowers - not just 3, as the name would indicate! That's a steal for only $23.95 - 4 punches in 1!  We also used the Bold Blossom stamp set (for the flower stem and flower on the envelope) from the Summer Mini, and the Happy Birthday stamp came from the Afterthoughts (Hostess Level 1) Stamp Set  - spend $75 on Stampin' Up supplies and this stamp Hostess set (6 stamps in all) could be yours - contact me today to find out how!

This next card is so simple, yet so cute!  I used the Long Fellows Hostess Level 2 set on this card - the sentiment says "birthday wishes....  a little late!"  I'm glad to have this card on hand now, just in case I ever need a belated birthday card!  I used the In Color paper and ribbon on this card - Concord Crush paper (what a beautiful purple!) and 1/2" stitched-poly ribbon in Pear Pizzaz!

Can you tell I went for a "clean and simple" look for my cards this month?? I love the contrast of the colors on this card - the bold Real Red card and beautiful Old Olive 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon - what a combination!  I can't get enough of that ribbon- it comes in so many fabulous colors and dresses up any card or gift so beautifully!  You can get your own bolt of ribbon for only $9.95 - just ask me how!  BTW, I think this card will be perfect to accompany an end-of-year teather gift, don't you?

For this last card, I used the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, the Ornate Blossom stamp set that I received during Sale-a-Bration (you can still order one through the catalog for only $9.95!), and the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with the Big Shot.  I think I need to work on my "photo taking" skills a bit - this card is absolutely beautiful (and I'm not sure you can tell that from the picture!) - the colors are Pear Pizzaz, Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze with a dash of Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip and Real Red - another AWESOME color combination - you just have to trust me!  That is one of my favorite parts about Stampin' Up..... the way they put color combinations together and the coodinating embellishments ((like ribbon, brads, buttons) that go along with everything!  It makes it so simple to create a beautiful, well-coordinated project!  Their Designer Series Paper is another great source for awesome color combos as well - check out all of this year's DSP in the catalog before it's gone!  You can order it until
June 30, 2011.  Don't forget that the new catalog begins July 1!

As always, I hope you enjoyed!
