Big Shot/3D Project Class - April 25, 2012

Here's a look at the projects we made this week at the Big Shot/3D Project Class!  This class meets the last Wednesday of every month at 7pm.  Please let me know if you'd like to join us for next month's class on Wednesday, May 30th at 7pm!

This month we made an awesome box and 4 coordinating cards.
I thought it would be a lovely Mother's Day Gift!!  The front of the box features the Fun Flowers Die with the Big Shot, a strip of the Hostess Designer Series Paper - Cheerful Treat - which is only available until May 31, the Brights Brads and Glimmer Brads (to add a little sparkle), Old Olive 1/2" Scalloped Dots Ribbon and the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch (also retiring on May 31)!

Both of the stamp sets we used on the cards - Three Little Words and Flower Fancy - are also retiring at the end of May!  Let me know if you'd like to order either of these stamp sets today.

Three Little Words Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!

Three Little Words   wood-mount    113254     $13.95

Flower Fancy Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!

Flower Fancy    wood-mount     111578     $36.95

We used some bold, bright colors for this project - Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie - what fun!!

We stamped "Three little words..." on the front of each card.  On the inside, they each have a different sentiment.  You could choose from "i love you", "so very sorry", "i miss you", "thanks so much", "you, you, you",  and "thinking of you".  So many great sentiments in one little stamp set!  The Flower Fancy stamp set was so much fun to use, too - and really simple!  Just stamp the outlined image (we used Chocolate Chip) and then stamp the flower "near" the outlined image.  It's ok if things don't line up perfectly - makes the flowers look a little abstract.  I think these cards turned out beautifully!  Any mother would love to receive this gift for Mother's Day!!

Hope you enjoyed!!

Retiring Stamp Set Sneak Peek #1

Here's a super-cute card we'll be making at my Card Buffet Class on Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30pm.  This card is made with one of the Retiring Stamp Sets - Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess set (see page 10 of the Idea Book & Catalog).  Please let me know if you'd like to join us - I still have a few spots available!!

I found the idea for this card on Dawn Olchefske's (dostamping.typepad.com) blog. I loved playing with these fun, bright, summer colors! We used a Pumpkin Pie card base and layered another piece of Pumpkin Pie embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder. Then we added a smaller layer of Melon Mambo and a fun strip of the Flirtatious Specialty DSP along the bottom. We wrapped a 1/2" Scalloped Dots Melon Mambo ribbon around the smaller layer and stamped "Happy Birthday" in Melon Mambo. This stamp is from the "Happiest Birthday Wishes" Hostess stamp set (only available until May 31!). Place a $150 order (or gather a few orders from friends) and you, too, can own this very versatile Birthday stamp set!

Summer Smooches Decor Stencil

Check out this awesome new stencil from Stampin' Up!!  It's the new Summer Smooches stencil - only available until April 30!!  I loved making this bright, bold card for Mother's Day!  The Real Red base is so fun layered with the Rich Razzleberry sponged image from the stencil.   We added a couple more bursts of color with the Bright Blossoms stamp set stamped in Real Red and Lucky Limeade.  We also punched Boho Blossom flowers in Real Red and Lucky Limeade and finished them with the Pearl Basic jewels.  The sentiment, for my wonderful mother, is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set - an extremely versatile stamp set for 12 different occasions!

Here is a picture of the actual stencil.  I was a little unsure of how to use it at first, but it was really soooo easy to use.   We just sponged the ink all around the inside of the stencil until we reached the desired amount of color - what fun!!  And so easy!!

Unfortunately, this stencil will not make it into the new Catalog (to be released on June 1).  So, if you'd like to purchase this stencil (or try it out at my Card Buffet Class this week on Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30pm), just let me know!

Hope to see you soon!

Scrapbook Class - April 19, 2012

Here are pictures of the pages we made at Scrapbook Class on Thursday night!!

The Concord Crush page was inspired by a card I found on Dawn Olchefske's blog last year.  We made the card at a class last summer, and I thought it would be fun  to re-create it on a scrapbook page so that I could keep it forever!!  The second page is a Lucky Limeade base with a strip of DSP from the Cheerful Treat DSP pack.

Here is a close-up of the stamped images.  We stamped the sentiment "Happiness" from the Loving Thoughts stamp set from the Occasions Mini (this stamp set is only available until April 30th! - place your order today if you like this set!).  I love how the Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper was used to inspire this card (and I LOVE the color combination - Concord Crush, Melon Mambo, and Lucky Limeade).  The cute birdie and branch are from the Best of Everything Stamp set.  We added a couple of punched flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and finished it all off with the Concord Crush 1/2" Poly-stitch ribbon - I am really going to miss that ribbon!!  If you are going to miss it too, be sure to order it before it's gone forever (on May 31)!!

I hadn't used this Big Shot die in a while (the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die) - I thought it worked great on this page!  The stamped circle in the center of the flower is from the Posy Punch Hostess stamp set - another item that will retire on May 31!!

This last page is one that coordinates with the 3rd page from last month's pages.  It features a Wild Wasabi base with Pacific Point butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die.

I hadn't used the Hat Pins from the Occasions Mini yet and remembered seeing a flag made with them on a card I saw at Leadership, so I thought I'd give it a try!  I love being able to incorporate these fun items in my Scrapbook Page because I know I'll be able to enjoy them years after a card would probably have hit the recycle bin!  I also had to use those super-cute Summer Smooches brads to finish off the page - what fun!!

I hope you enjoyed these pages this month!  Please let me know if you'd like to attend my Scrapbook Class.  We meet the third Thursday of every month at 7pm - I'd love to have you join us at anytime!!  This class is also a club.  If you join the 10 month club, you'll receive the awesome hostess benefits one month during your club membership.  In addition, I am holding a Club Member drive right now!!  If you decide to join the club, you'll receive 4 FREE hand-made cards from me (you choose the cards) and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win any item out of the catalog valued at $39.95 or less!!  Please let me know if you'd like more information on this or the other two clubs (All-Occasion Card Making Club or Big Shot/3D Project Club) I am currently running.

Hope to see you soon!

Card Buffet Class - Saturday, April 21 & Wednesday, April 25

Here are pictures of the cards I'll be offering at my Card Buffet Class
this Saturday, April 21 anytime between 9am-9pm
(in conjunction with my Day of Crafting, also held on Saturday, April 21 from 9am-9pm).

This class will also be offered on Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30pm
Please let me know if you'd like to attend!
This is a great new card class format I just started last month.  This is how it works....

I will provide 10 different cards (it's probably more like 15 this month!!) to choose from on a "Menu" board. The supplies for each card will be pre-cut and prepared and stored in a clear plastic bin on the "buffet" line. You pick the card, take the plastic bin to your seat and prepare as many of that card as you like. When you're done making that card, you select another box/card and make as many of that card as you like. There is a minimum of 6 cards to make at each session in a 3 hour time period. There would be no maximum (as many cards as you can make at the 3 hour session). The fee is $18 for 6 cards, and $2.50 for each additional card over 6 cards. Or, place a miniumum $40 order and your cards are free (for up to 10 cards).
As always, if you bring a new guest, you'll receive 2 free cards from me!

Now, for the fun part....  Here are the pictures.....

I'll be back later to add some descriptions and give credit to those I've CASED :).

Hope you enjoyed these cards!!

Let me know if you'd like to join us on Saturday, April 21 or Wednesday, April 25!

Just call me at (989) 330-0259 or email me at amy.frillici@yahoo.com today!!
