Card Class - January 11, 2012

Here are the cards we'll be making at Card Class this week on Wednesday, January 11 at 7pm.
Please let me know if you'd like to join us!
We meet the second Wednesday of every month at 7pm at 127 E. Superior St. in downtown Alma.

This is the first card we'll be making.... The base is Pear Pizzaz and then the accents are in Blushing Bride (card stock, poly-stitch ribbon and Twitterpated Designer Buttons).  The DSP is from the new Twitterpated DSP in the Occasions Mini and the sentiment (Happy Birthday) is from the Sale-a-bration set, Elementary Elegance.  There are lots of other fun, simple elements to this card.  Note the dotted edge (on the inside and outside of the card) from the new Occasions Mini Bordering on Romance set (the envelop is stamped with another image from the Borderin on Romance set) - the edge is then cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelit Die.  I used the new Labels Collection Framelits Dies to hold the sentiment.  Overall, I think this is a very sweet-looking card - maybe for a young girl's birthday??

I found this next card idea (actually the next two cards) on Connie Babbert's Inkspired Treasures blog.  I just love the ideas she come up with!  We start with a Whisper White base, add a thin layer of Real Red, then another layer of Whisper White embossed with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The hearts are punched out of the Subtles Patterns Designer Series Paper and Pink Pirouette card stock.  The final heart is stamped in Pink Pirouette using the new Occasions Mini P.S. I Love You stamp set (the black "love you" comes from this set as well).  They are all layered on Real Red Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits.  I then added a Real Red brad to finish things off.  What a beautiful card!  Thanks Connie!

Here is the next card I admired on Connie's blog.  We used the new Sale-a-bration Everyday Enchantment DSP and the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit Die from the Occasions Mini to make the small hearts (big heart is just punched).  The sentiment is from the SAB Outlined Occasions Set - we stamped this in Riding Hood Red and filled it in with a Pool Party marker. BTW, the base is also Riding Hood Red with a thin layer of Pool Party and then the Very Vanilla layer is embossed with the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The final touches on this card are the Basic Pearls and the new Calypso Coral 1/8" Organdy Ribbon from the SAB Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad pack.

This last card is one I found while browsing the Lady and the Stamp blog.  I loved the "crispness" of this white card!  We started with a base of Perfect Plum, then embossed the Whisper White layer with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate - this was my first time using this texturz plate.  I love how subtle the embossing is!  We punched the Perfect Plum scallop with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch and the white circle with the 1 3/4" Circle punch.  The Bashful Blue circle was made with the Circles #2 Originals Die.  I haven't used the Cupcake Builder Punch in a bit - how cute it is!  We used the Create a Cupcake set.  The final details include the Basic Rhinestones and the White Gel pen "dots" around the scallop circle.  Another cute birthday card!  I can't wait to send it to someone soon!

Well, I hope you enjoy making these cards as much as I did creating them!  I just love this job!

Take good care of yourselves, and I'll hope to see you all soon!
