Look What I Made!!

I was soooo excited to play with my first banner kit after seeing them live at convention!!
Check out what I made!!

It's a fun "create" banner!!

I have to admit...  I thought these would be great to make in a class!!  But then, I made one with all of these fabulous colors and realized it would take waaaay too long in a class setting!!  The part that takes so long is inking each chevron, polka dot or straight line individually with each color.  You have to ink one part, then clean off your stencil with a wipe so that your colors don't blend together or leak into the next section - just ask me how I know this!! - and then move onto the next color.

So, as much as I LOVE how this banner turned out (you can see it live at my new Gathering Inkspiration Stamp Studio at 209 E Superior St in downtown Alma!), we won't be doing this exact thing in class.  I will, however, give you any tips I can on how to make this fabulous creation yourself!!

So, my first tip was to wipe off the stencil after each color is applied (and before you move onto the next color).  If you happen to still have a problem, just punch one of those cute butterflies and cover up your mistake!!  Just for fun, I added some coordinating ribbon ties between each letter on the banner.

I used 6 different colors on my banner - Gumball Green, Strawberry Slush, Summer Starfruit, Wisteria Wonder, Coastal Cabana, and Blushing Bride - I thought it turned out pretty well!  What do you think??  Leave a comment at the end of this blog post, and let me know!!

And, watch for my next blog post about an upcoming class using these banners!!  We'll simplify the class by using just one color on each stencil pattern.  It still makes a beautiful banner, but doesn't take nearly as much time!!

I hope you enjoyed!!
