All-Occasion Card Class/Club - Wednesday, December 12

I saw the idea for this first card at my cousin, Sonia's, house, not too long ago...  I knew I'd have to try it!!  It's just too cute!!

For this card, we start with a Crumb Cake card base, then add a layer of Gumball Green embossed with the Chevron Embossing folder, then add another layer of Crumb Cake card stock cut with the Top Note Die with the Big Shot - I haven't used this die in a loooong time!!  But I still love it!!

We punched the cute Christmas trees (made with the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper) with the Petite Pennants Builder punch and then the tree trunks are made from the Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta ribbon.

This next card is a CASE of a card I saw on my fellow RubberQueen, Sara Bolz's, blog recently - I love this DSP and was excited to find a card to make with it!!

For this card, we start with a Very Vanilla card base, then add that beautiful layer of the Candelight Christmas DSP - and... do you see that Champagne Glimmer Paper sparkling behind the DSP - it's the perfect touch!!

We also stamped one of the beautiful ornaments from the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set (and die cut it with the Holiday Ornaments framelits) in Early Espresso - can you see that little glimmer in the middle of the ornament??  That's just a touch of Champagne Glass Stampin' Glitter - what fun!!  Finally, the sentiment, Christmas Blessings, is from the More Merry Message stamp set - the perfect Holiday stamp set with so many versatile holiday sentiments!!

Here's another cute card I found while browsing Stampin' Connection!  Thanks to Tanya Bell for sharing!!

I loved the idea of die-cutting the tree image (with the Holiday Collection Framelits) from the top Whisper White layer and then adding that fun layer of Snow Festival Designer Series Paper behind it.  We keep it simple with another sentiment, Season's Greetings, from the More Merry Messages stamp set.  A cute bow in Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon and a shiny red star punched with the Merry Minis Punch pack  from Red Glimmer Paper are the final touches!!

For this card, we start with a Cherry Cobbler card base, add a layer of Crumb Cake card stock, then a layer of Very Vanilla that is embossed (with the Delicate Designs Embossing folder) and die cut (with the Large Scallop Edgelit).  The mittens and stars are stamped from the Make a Mitten stamp set and, the Christmas sentiment is from the Seasonal Sayings stamp set.  I just love the warm, cozy feel of this card!!  How about you??

Christmas Under the Stars - Friday, December 7

I was invited to participate in the Christmas Under the Stars program in downtown Ithaca last Friday night!!  It was so much fun!!  They held a parade through town, had fun projects for the kids to make, fires burning in fire pits to warm your hands and toes, festive holiday music playing in town and Santa even made an appearance, too!!

I'd like to thank my "lovely assistant" as she'd like to be called :), Miss Roxann, for helping out at the craft show!!  It was so nice to have her company and smiling face along side me!  We had a great time - and please don't ask about the Winery we found ourselves at after the show was over!!

I always like to have a Make-n-Take card available for people to try as well!!  It breaks the ice and is a great conversation starter!!  Plus, it's so fun to see people that have never stamped before make a beautiful card - I love to see that pride on their faces :).



Well, I hope you enjoyed!!  I certainly did enjoy meeting lots of new women (and even a few men!) in Ithaca last Friday!!

3D Project/Big Shot Class/Club - Wednesday, November 28

Here are the projects we made at our 3D Project/Big Shot Class last Wednesday!! 

They were so much fun!!  I can't wait to give these items as Holiday gifts this year!!!

This first project is a Holiday pin - it can be worn on your winter coat, pinned to a purse, bag or scarf or even worn in your hair!!  I just love making these pins!!

For this pin, we used the Floral Frames Framelit Dies with the Big Shot.  We made three layers of each size flower - we used the three middle flowers for this project.  Then we laid all nine flowers out on a piece of paper, sprayed them heavily with Spray Starch, then crumpled them all up inside the paper.  We kept them crumpled up for a bit to dry, then we carefully unfolded each flower - but not too much!!  Those wrinkles are what give the pin their texture!!  After the flowers were dry, we put the pin together - each layer is held together with hot glue.  We added a stick pin and hair clip to the back with hot glue as well.  Finally, we added a fun, bright button tied with some baker's twine to the top of the flower.  How fun is that!!

This next project is one that our Stampin' Up co-founder and CEO, Shelli Gardner, demonstrated for us at the Lansing Regional in November!  Of course, I just had to try it when I got home!! 

 I'm so glad I did!!  It looks complicated but really is not!!



The "mug" in this case is made from the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die with the Big Shot.  We cut off the scallops on the top to give it a more "clean" look.  Then we made the handle by punching a 1 3/4" circle, then a 2 1/2" circle and inserting the ring in the side of the mug.  As a note....  It's a lot easier to put the handle on the mug before you put the mug itself together - bet you can guess how I know that!!  The mug is made from Shimmery White paper - you really can't see from the picture, but the mug kind of "shines"!! - so cool!!

We put a couple of strips of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper stack around the mug, embossed the Cherry Cobbler mug and Early Espresso "steam" (with Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso embossing powders) and added them to the mug!!

Next, we filled cello bags with hot cocoa (the front bag) and marshmallows (the bag behind it) and topped them with more DSP from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper stack. These toppers were made using the Window Frames Collection Framelit Dies and the Big Shot. We also embossed the snowflake from the mug in Early Espresso and punched it out with the 1" circle punch (and put these on the front bag topper) and stamped "Greetings of the Season" from the Greetings of the Season stamp set (and put it on the other bag topper).

Finally, we tied some Cherry Cobbler Sweater Trim around a candy cane!!

And you have... the perfect holiday gift!!
