Embellished Ornaments

Ooooooh, I just love this card!!

I received it during a swap I did earlier this fall and knew we'd make it at class sometime...

And we did!!....  at the All-Occasion Card Class last month!

Thank you so much to Zahra Premji for her inspiration on this card - everyone loved it at class, too!!

We start our card with a Mint Macaron card base.  I think that's one of the reasons I like this card so much - Mint Macaron is not a traditional holiday color, but it works so well with the Very Vanilla and Gold Accents!  What a great color combination!

Next, we added a Very Vanilla piece embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and then a strip of the gorgeous Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum (love those gold accents!).

Next, we die-cut our Gold Ornament using the Delicate Ornament Thinlits and our new Precision Base Plate.  I have to admit, when I first saw the Precision Base Plate, I wasn't sure I needed it....  but, after trying to die-cut this detailed ornament using the Magnetic Platform, I'm sold!  The cuts were so much better with the Precision Base Plate, and the pieces came out easily with the help of my Paper Piercing Tool.

We layered this gold ornament over another Very Vanilla ornament die-cut with the Delicate Ornament Thinlits.  Then, we adhered the Gold ornament to the Very Vanilla ornament using our Fine Tip Glue Pen.

We also stamped our other ornament in Mint Macaron ink (using one of the ornament stamps from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set) and die-cut it with the Delicate Ornament Thinlits.  These 2 items are also bundled together for a 15% saving so both items.

Finally, we added a Gold Ribbon to the top of our Mint Macaron ornament and stamped "Thinking of you at Christmas" (also from the Embellished Ornaments Stamp Set).  The end of this piece was flagged with the Banner Triple Punch.

Winter Wishes... Merry Wishes

Here is a super simple card for you today....

This one is all about the special front on the card.  See all the details here.....

We start our card with a Tip Top Taupe card base, but this one measures only 6 1/2 x 5 1/2 (and is scored at 4 1/4 as usual).

Next, we stamped the pine boughs from the Winter Wishes Stamp Set in Tip Top Taupe ink on the front flap of the card.

We also stamped the sled (love this vintage wooden sled, by the way!) in Tip Top Taupe ink and added "Merry Wishes" stamped in Real Red ink.  The sled stamp is found in the Winter Wishes Stamp Set, and the Merry Wishes sentiment can be found in the Oh, What Fun Stamp Set.

Finally, we added a couple of pieces of cardstock (in Real Red and Very Vanilla) to the inside of our card - to match the panel on the front of our card.

Making Spirits Bright... Among the Branches

I can't stop using this Designer Series Paper... the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper, that is!

Read on to learn more about this card!!

We start our card with a Smoky Slate card base and embossed the front of the card with the Woodland Embossing Folder.


Next, we added a strip of (my favorite!) Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack and flagged the end of the banner with our Banner Triple Punch.  Obviously, I use this Banner Triple Punch ALL the time....  If you don't have it yet, you really need to get it!!  It's so handy - it punches the perfect banner for 1", 1 1/2" and 2" wide strips of paper!!

Then, we stamped "Making spirits Bright" from the Among the Branches Set in Real Red ink and punched it out with our 2" Circle Punch.

Next, we die-cut our Dazzling Diamonds Balloon (it looks like an ornament, too - don't you think??) and layered it behind our sentiment.

These two pieces were stapled together with our Handheld Stapler.
