Watercolor Wings... You are So Kind

I just love the butterflies on this card!!  They were so fun to make!!

We start our card with a Whisper White card base, then added another layer of Whisper White card stock embossed with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  I can't wait to experiment with this embossing folder, some ink and a sponge - just think of the texture you could create on your brick wall!!  For now though, I like the crisp white wall to highlight our butterflies.

Next, we made our butterfly using the fabulous new stamp set, Watercolor Wings....

1 - Stamp the first solid image from this butterfly set in Watermelon Wonder ink - actually, ink up the stamp, then stamp it off on scratch paper to remove some of the ink, then stamp it on your card stock

2 - Stamp the outside edges of the butterfly in Watermelon Wonder ink

3 - Stamp the inside shading stamp (and dots along the outside of the butterfly's wings) in Delightful Dijon ink

4 - Die-cut the butterfly with the new Bold Butterfly Framelits

5 - Stamp the body of the butterfly in Delightful Dijon ink - I found it was easier to die-cut the butterfly and then stamp the body - it's easier to line up the body that way (trust me, I know this from experience now - after I stamped the body, then die-cut it and learned I hadn't positioned the body in the right place!)

We popped the butterfly up on Dimensionals and added him to the card.  Then, we stamped his antenna directly on the brick/white card stock.

Next, we punched a couple of small butterflies using the Bitty Butterfly Punch and added some pearls to one of the butterflies.

Finally, we stamped "You are so kind" from the Watercolor Wings Stamp set and flagged the ends of this sentiment with the Banner Triple Punch.
