Group Meeting/Service Project - Tuesday, September 16

These are the fun projects we made at our Group Meeting last night...

The first one is a card we made to donate to a local Hospice House (each month, we make cards to donate to a local organization).

I love the fact that this stamp set is also part of our partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charities - Stampin' Up donates $3 from the sale of each stamp set to the RMHC!  So, we're essentially supporting two great organizations with this one card!

We start this card with a Crushed Curry card base, then stamped those cute flowers (from the Flamingo Lingo stamp set) in Crushed Curry ink. Next, we added a strip of the 2013-15 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (in Coastal Cabana) to the bottom of the card.

Then, we stamped the flamingo in Strawberry Slush ink, the "Caring Thoughts" in Crushed Curry ink and the scalloped piece behind the sentiment in Coastal Cabana ink - all images are from the Flamingo Lingo stamp set.  The sentiment was die-cut with our Bitty Banner Framelits and the scalloped piece was punched out with our Scalloped Oval punch.

Finally, we punched the top of the flamingo tag with our Scalloped Tag Topper punch and then added some  Baker's Twine to our tag.

Here's the next project we made at our Group Meeting - this was our Make-n-Take project for the night!

I learned how to make these cute gift bags while at Ronda Wade's Creative Convention last weekend.
This is how you do it....

Start with 2 pieces from Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack (pick any two coordinating patterns) - score them both at 1" along each side and the bottom (but not the top).  Then, cut along the side score lines up to the score line along the bottom of the card stock.  Fold along all score marks, fold the flaps in and secure with Glue Dots.  Do this with both pieces of DSP.  Insert one side of the bag into the other (and secure with Glue Dots) to make your bag!  It's so simple!

We added a fun tag (also made with our Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack), along with the word "believe" from the Good Greetings Stamp Set (you can get your chance to win this set with any $50 order between now and October 31) on a Garden Green Label Bracket punch.

The final finishing touches are the cute, little snowflake from the Frosted Sequins, a Rhinestone, a Mini Metallic Clothes Pin and some Crumb Cake Baker's Twine from the Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory Kit.  You could also make the entire tag from this kit - I had already used my entire kit on the projects at Creative Convention, so we came up with our own here!
