Downline Meeting/Service Project Event - Tuesday, April 22

Here are the fun cards we made at our 2nd Downline Meeting and Service Project Event on Tuesday.....

We are donating all of the cards we made (about 50 this month!!) to the local cancer center.  We loved the idea of being able to provide hand-made cards for the cancer center so that the friends and family of the cancer patients could send them a hand-made card to brighten their day (even just a little bit!).


This beautiful card starts with a Wisteria Wonder card base, then we added a Very Vanilla layer.  Next, we die-cut those beautiful butterflies with the appropriately-named Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and then added the polka dots with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder.  Finally, we added a layer of the Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper and some Rhinestones.

Here is the other card we made that night....

This card starts with a Crumb Cake card base, then we added a layer of Very Vanilla stamped with the En Francais Background Stamp (retiring, and already sold out, unfortunately!).  Next, we stamped "So Sorry" from the So Sorry Stamp Set (also sold out!!) and then added those gorgeous flowers from the Field Flowers Stamp set (retiring, but not sold out as of this blog post!!).  Finally, we added a 3/8" Taffeta Crumb Cake ribbon (retiring, and already sold out, too!) to the card.

We have been having such a great experience making these cards together each month.  If you'd like to join us in May, we'll be meeting on Thursday, May 29 at 7pm at the Gathering Inkspiration Stamp Studio to make more cards to donate.  I think the local cancer center is set with cards for a little while now, so we'll be making and donating them to another deserving organization in our area in May.  If you have any suggestions for donations, please let us know!!
