Downline Meeting/Service Project - Thursday, May 29

Here are the projects we made at our Downline Meeting last night....

This first project was a make-n-take card.  Everyone got to play with the new Blendabilities markers.

They were so much fun!!

Stampin' Blendabilities Markers are alcohol ink markers made for blending and shading.  3 markers come in each assortment - a light, medium and dark marker.  Color and blend like an artist - no expensive classes required!  There are 12 different assortments to choose from:

Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie (the assortment I used on the card above), Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate and Wisteria Wonder

These were the tips I shared at class for using these markers....

Blendabilities Tips

-use Whisper White Card Stock
-use Black Memento ink
-wait 30 seconds after you stamp the image to start coloring with the Blendabilities markers
-I prefer to start with the darkest marker (fine tip) to outline the edges/give a shadow effect, then use the medium-shade marker (fine tip), then the lightest-shade marker (fine tip)
-start on top of the darkest shade when you use the medium-shade marker and bring the color down and out with light, feathery strokes; repeat this step with the lightest-shade marker next
-you can use the brush tip on the lightest-shade marker to finish blending the colors
-these are alcohol-based markers, so you can color on anything – rhinestones, pearls, buttons made of clay, window sheets, cello bags, etc.

The blendabilities markers are not quite available for customer purchase - Stampin' Up has said they hope for them to be available around the beginning of July.  In the meantime, if you just can't wait for these markers, they are available for purchase as a demonstrator.  Just purchase the $50 Stampin Up Starter kit (see all the details here), and you won't have to wait either!!

We also used the new Single Stamp, Blended Bloom, and some of the fabulous In Color Ribbon, Hello Honey on this card!!

Blended Bloom  135906  $11.95
Hello Honey 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon  133671  $8.95

And....  this was the card (CASEd from Karen Bouchikas) we made to donate to a local service organization...  It features some retiring products (like the Happy Watercolor Stamp set - I am really going to miss that set! - and Natural Composition Designer Series Paper).  However, the Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Angled Tag Topper Punch and Bermuda Bay 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon are carrying over to the new catalog.

Angled Tag Topper Punch  133323  $22.95

Tea Lace Paper Doilies  129399  $2.95

Bermuda Bay 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon  131206  $5.95

If you''d like to join us our next Downline Meeting, mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 17 at 7pm!  You won't want to miss it!!  Anyone can join us for this meeting - whether you are in my downline, thinking about purchasing the starter kit and becoming a downline member or just want to make some fabulous cards for a great cause!!

Hope to see you then!!
